Have we got a treat for you! As the Stratford-Perth Archives will be featuring vintage cookery for the pre-Christmas period, we have as a guest speaker, Elizabeth (Davis) Baird who most of you will know either from her numerous cookbooks or from her stints on various TV and radio cooking shows. Did you know she is a Perth County native? Ever since Elizabeth published her first cookbook, "Classic Canadian Cooking" in 1974, she has been contributing to Canadian Living magazine. She has authored 25 Canadian Living cookbooks, including the best-selling "Best of" series. And she is known for showcasing Canadian foods.
So, at our December meeting, Elizabeth will be discussing early Canadian recipes that our ancestors might have made and the importance of food and cooking in their everyday lives. The meeting is at 1:30 p.m. at the Stratford-Perth Archives, 4273 Line 34 (Highway 8), just west of the Stratford city limits. Lots of free parking. Time for networking afterward with light refreshments in the Board Room. (And I suspect if you own one or more of Elizabeth's cookbooks, she just might be able to be persuaded to autograph them if you wish.)
Mark it on your calendar now and hope to see you there. All welcome!
