Looking for details on Jesse Peachey (born 27 Mar 1880 in England), married Louise (a) Johnson in England (5 Apr. 1905). Came to Canada, - not sure when. Our relative is Arthur B. Peachey - their son, also born in England. Looking for any further details on Jesse and Louise - both died in 1962 but we cannot locate dates, obits or gravestones. We have traced them up to 1960 living in Attwood.

MAHARs in the 1880s

Have a William Joseph Mahar born on 5 Mar 1868 in Dublin, Ontario, he later moved to North Dakota in USA. Looking for more information on his family that stayed behind in Ontario. His father was John Mahar and I believe his mother was Margaret Dyrure. They had at least 4 children: Minnie who went on to marry Patrick Dougherty. Frank who I know nothing about. William Joseph married Nellie Burton and lived in North Dakota, USA. Louis James who also moved to North Dakota, USA and married Sara Ann Burton. I believe that John came from Ireland, but no evidence. I might have located them at Saint Columban Roman Catholic Cemetery; Margaret and John. I am hoping to find some sort of record that links the family back to Ireland. Also wish to know more about Dublin and Hibbert Township. I live in USA and wondered if any of those area resources are available online?
Thanks so much.

John Schnatz was supposedly born in East Zorra, March 1, 1856. I would like to have verification of his birth. His parents, J. Schnatz and wife Mary, were living in that area in 1878, and were listed as his parents at their son John's wedding, on December 18, 1878. I would like to know if the parents passed away and are buried in that area, with the dates and places. The son, John married Mary Brodrecht, and two daughters, Mariann and Elizabeth, and one son, Fred were born in Tavistock, Ontario, in 1879, 1880, and 1882. J. (John) Schnatz, died in 1878 at age 69.

My question--Were John & William SMITH brothers from Kent County, England? I have been seeking info from the IGI.  Any help to Fern Davenport, 429 Third Line, Oakville ON L6L 4A6 or email

To whoever sent in the query on the above families, you need to search in the Town of Perth which is in Lanark Co., not the County of Perth.  When I saw "last duel", I realized you had the wrong Perth.  I had already posted your query, and when I deleted it, I accidentally deleted your email, so I don't have your email address to reply to you directly.  My apologies for going about it this way, but I could see no other way.

There is a Lanark Co. Genealogical Society which is not associated with Ontario Genealogical Society, plus Lanark Co. is considered under the umbrella of the Ottawa Branch of Ontario Genealogical Society.  I realize this is very confusing, and you are far from the first to get the two Perths confused.  The Town of Perth is 300 miles away from Perth County.

Information I have from his death certificate in Kent County, Michigan is that James A. Deering (or just James Deering) was born 16 Mar 1845, father name - John, Both parents born Ireland. Post by a great-grandson of his on says birthplace was Perth County. James moved to Michigan abt 1865-66, and married Catherine E. Burke in 1868. I'm looking for information on his birth, his parents, and any siblings.

My great great grandparents, Thomas Hanlon and Catherine McPhee, were married in Stratford, Perth, Ontario in about 1856. They subsequently immigrated to Iowa, USA about 1859. Thomas immigrated about 1853 from Ireland. I am trying to find the names of Catherine's parents. Her grave stone says she was born in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia on 31 Oct 1831. She must have moved to Ontario some time before she married. My information on Catherine leads me to believe that her Mother's maiden name was McDonald. Any leads would be appreciated.

Collins family 1851 to 1928. I have a family bible which records the marriage of Edward Collins to Ann Thompson on Nov 10, 1851 in Gault, Ontario. Also listed is the births of 8 children ( 7 boys & 1 girl) between 1852 & 1868 and dates of deaths of Edward, Ann & 5 children with 3 in Stratford. The Bible itself indicates it being produced by Schuyler Smith and Company of London, Ontario. I am attempting to locate the Collins family to determine if they are interested in having this Bible which we located on Vancouver Island BC some 20 yrs ago. If I cannot locate the family I am prepared to donate to a credible historical association. Thank You.

My great great grandfather Henry Baker immigrated to Canada with his wife Tomazina in 1816. My grandfather Dr. Herbert Wesley Baker married Mae Victoria Wyatt (president of Kroehlers Furniture). William Wyatt, Samuel Wyatt, and Rita Wyatt were Mae's siblings. Who were the Wyatt parents? Did they come from the Fergus/Elora area as I have postcards from my grandmother to my grandfather? Any help is appreciated.
